Ganon's Fortress by Timsalcove Ganon's Fortress by Timsalcove
This was fun. Although I spent a lot longer on it than I originally bargained. What I planned on being a two hour paint turned into a three.

I can't seem to stop myself when it comes to adding detail. Still a problem I need to work on if I'm trying to do speed paintings vs more finished paintings.

For best effect, supplement your viewing experience with the original track from the game: [link]

Thanks mom and dad for buying me OOT as a kid. Hope you enjoy!

Amazing drawing! Such vivid detail, and I love how you have Link's tunic torn and blowing in the wind. It's a great addition, and adds even more appeal to the picture!:wow:

The Master Sword glowing is awesome, too - I could dote on this all day!

I'm thoroughly enjoying all of your OoT artwork, and this one, especially, is remarkable! The landscape is in such amazing detail and the whole scene is recreated so incredibly well.:eyepopping:

Awesome job!

One of the most surprising scenes from OoT and your artwork brings it to life perfectly. Love it. Great job!

Terrific shading and coloring. My only beef with it is that it looks a little too much like Mordor...

This is so amazing! I personally think that Ganon's boss fights were the best on the 64 version(re release or not)! Ganondorf's face looked so dark when he turned into Ganon and the dark background?!? Fantastic!!

I love it when people can recreate polygonal video game scenes into environments that actually look a bit more geologically possible. :D And dang you picked an awesome one to do! Instafave. :D

Copy and paste from my comment on Zelda Dungeon, who just featured this:

"Wooow . . . this is great. The sense of scale is awesome, the colour pallet is rich and lets Link stand out, and there's a lot of power in the mood and feel of it. I'm definitely in love with this."

The only thing critical I could say, is that the perspective of the lava pool and ground directly below the castle seems weird, like it should be caved in like a crater but comes too far towards the camera. Specifically, the bottom-right corner merges foreground and background weirdly and seems to close the gap between the castle and foreground cliff in an odd way, screwing with proportions. Otherwise, I'm absolutely in love with this.

Thanks very much! I agree with you about the perspective. I might go back and change that at some point - or perhaps I should live with the mistake and learn from it. Anyways, thanks for pointing it out. Glad to know people are paying attention! :)

Not at all! I love that you took the time to critique my work. : ) It means more than a compliment in most cases because it means you're paying attention to the details. And you are certainly right, I can't believe I didn't catch that! haha, we can't have link fumbling around to sheath his sword in the middle of battle now can we?

well yeah i kinda caught that by accident hahahaahahhaha
but yeah we definitly can't have link trying to pull out his sword with his left hand when it's on the wrong side LOL!
and i'm glad i could help in some small way :highfive:
